Paid summer internship @ Dr. Drew show
A paid summer internship is available on the Dr. Drew Show on HLN. The 12-week position is based in Los Angeles, pays minimum wage. College credit is also available.
Applicants must be students who have not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship.
Interns at HLN will gain insight into the editorial decision-making process. They will be offered the opportunity to strengthen their research skills while contributing to the show. They will learn how to set-up a script with video and copy, use CNN’s databases and newsroom computer systems, and learn how to use CNN’s video database to locate video to use on the program. Interns will be greeting show guests and showing them out after their scheduled appearance. They will also have the opportunity to assist the team with basic administrative tasks like researching, story pitches and suggesting strong video elements and graphics. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in how show ideas are developed, how videotape is gathered and edited, the script-writing process, and how the program is built from an editorial and production perspective. They will also be given the opportunity to assist associate producers, tape editors, assignment editors and producers in Los Angeles.
