Entry-level reporter job @ Central Texas newspaper

The Marlin Democrat, a weekly newspaper located between Dallas and Austin, is seeking a full-time reporter to cover a wide range of meetings and events, write stories, and take pictures.

This position requires someone with the willingness to go the extra mile to find the story behind the story, initiate contacts and sources within the community and have a passion for perfection. Reporting experience preferred but not necessary. Must have good communication skills, be computer and e-mail savvy with programs such as Word, QUARK or InDesign, Photoshop, etc. Must also have knowledge of AP Style; page design experience is a plus! Must be able to work flexible hours that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
