9-week fellowship for young European journalists

A 9-week journalism fellowship is available for 12 young journalists from select EU countries.

The fellowship, sponsored by Fondation EurActiv PoliTech and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, is designed to help early career journalists gain experience of European Union policies and online media. One week’s intensive seminar in Berlin will be followed by a six to eight-week internship in Brussels.

A dozen young journalists will be selected. Eight of those should come from Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain or the United Kingdom, and the other four should come from Germany and/or Austria (two from regional and two from national media). All will participate in a five-day intensive seminar in Berlin.

Applicants must have a minimum of two and no more than five years of journalism experience; be employed outside Brussels with professional press card (students, freelancers & former journalists need not apply); and possess good oral and written English, knowledge of a second EU language.

By February 15, 2012, email the following documents to selection@euractiv.com stating ‘RBS - EU Journalism Fellowship’ in the subject line: 1) CV and motivation letter in English; 2) Letter of reference from management of ‘sending’ media, (e.g. from the editor); 3) Three published articles showing excellent writing in mother tongue, including one with EU relevance.
