Paid radio news summer internship in Alaska
KFSK, NPR's affiliate radio station in southeast Alaska, is offering a paid summer internship. The 2 to 3 month internship provides basic housing at the radio station, round trip airfare from within the United States, and a $100 per week stipend. It's a very hands-on experience.
"The successful applicant will work full-time as a reporter/producer and will also host local news, weather, community announcements and station breaks during NPR's morning edition," the ad states. "They will perform a variety of other station duties as assigned. The intern may cover a variety of topics of local, regional and statewide interest. There are plenty of opportunities for features and natural sound pieces."
To apply, by March 5, email a cover letter, resume, and links to audio samples of stories you have voiced to Matt Lichtenstein at matt[at]kfsk.org.
