Maine online newspaper hiring entry-level reporter

TheMaineWire.com, a conservative-leaning online news service based in Portland, Maine, is hiring a full-time reporter.

Must be able to produce stories under pressure on a daily basis. Must be familiar with Maine state politics and government. Opportunity for advancement, very good pay. Experience preferred, but will consider hard-working candidates with good writing skills. Familiarity with social media a plus. While reporters are being laid off every day, we are the only Maine media outlet that is hiring full-time reporters for long-term employment!

The Bulletin Newspapers, a chain of four weekly newspapers in the Boston area, is seeking al full time reporter to cover general assignment stories in Boston and Norwood, Mass.

Must be able to work as a team with our other reporters. Salary is $25k to start with a salary bump / review in 90 days. Applicants must have a car and their own digital camera is required. Experience a must but willing to train the right person with a journalism degree. Daily reporting to our Hyde Park (Boston) office is required. Start immediately. Work schedule is a combination of afternoon and night meetings.

Part-time reporters wanted as well to cover specific meetings and events if the city of Boston.
