Reporter job @ Dayton TV station

WDTN-TV, NBC's affiliate in Dayton, Ohio, seeks a Multi-Media Journalist.

The person will report daily news stories for broadcast news and the web, as a multi-media journalist working with multi-platforms. The candidate will be a team player who will shoot video, write compelling stories and will edit final footage to complete process of editing news stories. Typical duties include: work sources for story ideas, shoot video for stories, write and edit stories for the newscasts and web pages, break stories to air, handle live shots daily. Candidate also required to make regular public appearances representing the television station. Person must be physically able to perform all essential functions of the job on a regular basis.

The successful candidate must be self motivated, energetic and can communicate well with viewers from the anchor desk, live shots and in package form. The candidate must have excellent writing and organizational skills, a thorough knowledge of reporting techniques, as well as a strong knowledge of current local/national/international events. Experience using P2 camera and editing on laptop editors is a plus. One year experience and knowledge of non-linear editing is required, though degree in broadcast journalism helpful.
