Paid summer internhips @ Newsday
After a two-year hiatus of its paid summer internship program, Newsday -- a 300,000-circulation daily newspaper in Long Island -- is once again offering paid journalism internships.
Interns work as reporters, copy editors, videographers, and presentation artists for the newspaper and the web, and are given actual assignments for publication. They works in the newspaper's various sections, including news, sports, entertainment, features and business.
The 10-week summer internship also provides a series of seminars in which participants join with regular Newsday staff members in informal discussions on such topics as investigative reporting and covering a beat. Pay is $520 per week.
Deadline to apply is Dec. 15. Applications can be obtained online at www.newsday.com/internships.
