Paid Summer & Fall journalism internships in D.C.

The National Journalism Center will offer several paid journalism internships this Summer and Fall in Washington, D.C. The Summer program runs from May 16 to Aug. 5; the Fall program is from Sept. 12 to Dec. 9.

Interns receive a $1,000 monthly stipend and spend 12 weeks working at newspapers, magazines, websites, and TV and radio stations. They also are provided with training, meet with prominent journalists and participate in discussions.

Students can take their internships for credit, as well as take the training seminar as an independent study course. Recent interns have been placed with media outlets around the Washington, D.C. area, including: The Washington Times, Washington Examiner, Fox News, Radio America, The Sean Hannity Show and Forbes.

College students, recent graduates and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Applicants are not required to be journalism majors; however, it is preferred to have some exposure/training to journalism and communications.

The application deadline is March 1 for the Summer program and July 15 for the Fall program. Students should apply ASAP as acceptance decisions are made on a rolling basis.
