Entry-level production assistant jobs for national talk show

The Trisha Show, a new nationally syndicated talk show, is hiring several Production Assistants to assist its Producers and Associate Producers with all aspects of production. Positions are based in Stamford, Conn.

Duties: Work with guests who will appear on the show while they are in town for taping; involvement in all show day procedures; books guests to appear on the show when necessary.

Basic Qualifications: Minimum 6 months TV experience with a talk show, news or court program, or other relevant experience (including internships); proficiency in Microsoft Office and the internet; bachelor's degree.

About the show: As a conflict-resolution expert, Trisha Goddard will help everyday people and their families navigate the tough issues they are struggling to overcome. Her show will cover topics important to women everywhere with a unique approach--straight talk with a no-excuses mentality.

Strong knowledge of production equipment, and methods and techniques for live & taped productions. Knowledge of video/audio signal, tape dynamics. Ability to work quickly under pressure in an on-air environment. Ability to direct using studio computer automation equipment, PVTV, Ignite. News 12 Connecticut is looking for the right person to maintain and repair equipment and facilities in conjunction with supervisor. Assist with anticipating service and maintenance needs and preventive/routine maintenance on equipment. Respond to emergencies related to failed equipment to minimize impact to air and productions. Assist with maintaining spare equipment, tools, and spare parts inventory. Maintain departmental record keeping of equipment service records, wiring diagrams, and inventory. Assist with purchasing of materials and supplies. Resolve operating difficulties. Shade video and rout signals during productions. Assist in all departmental functions as required.

Four year degree or equivalent. Minimum two years broadcast engineering experience or related electronics maintenance experience. Familiarity with repairing/aligning production equipment. Knowledge of the audio/video signal, tape dynamics, and satellite and RF technology. Ability to troubleshoot wiring and system related problems. Industry knowledge of analog and digital circuitry and microprocessors. Ability to work under pressure with deadlines in an on-air environment. Ability to focus on multiple agendas/projects simultaneously. Ability to follow instructions, work with minimal supervision, analyze problems, and implement solutions.
