Radio reporter job in Ontario, Canada
CD 98.9, a Canadian radio station in Simcoe, Ontario, has an opening for a full time newscaster/reporter.
We are a station with a very strong commitment to local news coverage. We are looking for someone who understands what local radio is all about. We want someone who is interested in becoming a part of this community and has a strong nose for news.
Duties & responsibilities of this position:
- Reporting on weekly community meetings i.e. council, school board, and any other meetings and events that come up.
- anchor weekend morning newscasts
- Be available to cover other shifts when necessary
To be successful in this position you should have:
- Community College education in broadcast journalism or the equivalent
- Good news sense
- Good writing skills
- Strong on-air delivery
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to generate your own story ideas as well as follow-up on ideas from others.
- Can work evenings and weekends as required
- A valid drivers license and meet our insurance company standards
